### **Sorry! Board Game**

**Sorry!** is a classic board game that combines strategy, luck, and fun. Players take turns moving their game pieces around the board, aiming to get all of their pieces from the start to the home space before anyone else. The twist? You can "bump" opponents back to their start positions, creating plenty of opportunities for surprises and strategy.

**Ages**: 6+
**Players**: 2-4
**Playing Time**: 30-45 minutes

---

### **Objective:**
The goal of **Sorry!** is to be the first player to get all of your four game pieces (called "pawns") from the start to the "Home" space on the board. Along the way, you’ll have to navigate around the board, avoid being bumped by other players, and use cards to move your pieces strategically.

---

### **Components:**
- **Game Board**: The board has a series of spaces that form a path from each player's Start area to their Home area, with special spaces for actions like "Bump" and "Slide."
- **4 Pawn Sets**: Each player gets 4 pawns in one color. The pawns start in their designated Start space.
- **Deck of 45 Cards**: The cards determine how far you can move your pawns, and they have special instructions that add an element of strategy to the game.
- **Safety Zones and Slides**: Each player's path includes a Safety Zone and a Slide, which can be used for additional movement or to bump opponents back to their Start.

---

### **Setup:**
1. Each player chooses a color and places their 4 pawns in their **Start** space.
2. Shuffle the **deck of cards** and place it face down.
3. Players decide who goes first, and play proceeds clockwise.

---

### **How to Play:**
1. **Draw a Card**: On each turn, the player draws a card from the deck and follows the instructions on the card.
2. **Move Your Pawns**:
   - **Moving Forward**: Some cards will move your pawn forward a specific number of spaces. For example, a **“Move Forward 4”** card moves your pawn four spaces forward.
   - **Bump**: If you land on a space already occupied by an opponent’s pawn, you "bump" their pawn back to their Start space. This is a fun way to slow down your opponents!
   - **Slides**: If you land on a Slide space, you can "slide" all the way to the end of the slide, sending you forward to a new spot on the board, but be careful—your opponents can slide along with you!
   - **Special Cards**:
     - **"Sorry!"**: This is one of the most powerful cards. It allows you to move one of your pawns from your Start directly to a space occupied by an opponent's pawn, sending them back to their Start while you get to advance.
     - **“Move Backward”**: Some cards allow you to move backward, which can sometimes be helpful if you need to avoid being bumped or to strategically block an opponent.
     - **“Wild” Cards**: There are cards that let you choose any number to move forward or backward, giving you more flexibility.

3. **Getting into Home**: To move a pawn into the Home space, you must draw the exact number needed. For example, if you need to move 3 spaces to reach Home, you must draw a card that allows you to move exactly 3 spaces forward.

---

### **Special Rules**:
- **Safety Zone**: Each player has a Safety Zone near their Home, and they cannot be bumped back to Start from here. Once you reach your Safety Zone, your pawns are safe, and you only need to draw exact numbers to enter Home.
- **Slides**: When you land on a slide, you move your pawn forward to the end of the slide, but be aware that your opponents can use the same slide, sending them closer to their goal.
- **Bumping**: If an opponent’s pawn is already occupying a space, you can "bump" them back to Start by landing on their space. If your pawn is bumped, you must return it to your Start space and begin again.

---

### **Winning the Game:**
The first player to get all four of their pawns into the **Home** space wins the game. Players must land exactly on the Home space; if they draw a card that moves them too far, they must wait until their next turn to draw the correct card.

---

### **Additional Tips**:
- **Strategize Your Moves**: Use cards wisely, especially the "Sorry!" card, which can help you disrupt your opponents' progress.
- **Defensive Play**: Don't just focus on moving your pawns forward. Sometimes it’s beneficial to play defensively, blocking your opponents’ progress or using a backward move to avoid being bumped.

---

**Sorry!** is a game full of suspense, strategy, and surprises. It’s easy to learn but full of twists, making it fun for the whole family. Whether you’re plotting your next move or sending your opponent’s pawn back to Start, there's never a dull moment in this fast-paced classic.
